Hi,
I am about to develop a Wordpress site for a client using Thesis and (hopefully) the Fancy Product Designer-Gravity Forms combination. I just need to check first that it will be able to handle alternative colour combinations rather than a single colour chosen from a colour palette or colour picker. Here is an example of what I am referring to: http://kombat.com.au/create_products/AFL-Jerseys-Vee-021?n=32012193
2 questions: 1. Will the plugin handle this kind of application OK?
2. I am assuming that we will be able to set up each product once and then either set up the colour combinations as variations or duplicate the product and change the details.
Thanks,
Martin

Yes you can do alternate color combinations with the two options you already mentioned. I would recommend you to use the plugin Multistep Product Configurator to do that. Here you'll find an example: http://fancyproductdesigner.com/product/sneaker-mspc/.
Thanks for that. Now I just need to discuss and confirm the site composition with the client.

The example with the baseball sleeve is using the Fancy Product Designer, so it is possible to do that.
You already figured it out: Every area of the image needs to get a seperate path in each svg file.

Thanks so much, Stef and Wendel. Ultimately, we would aim for something like https://uparel.com/item/ultimate-baseball-sleeve/ which seems to have the design functionality disabled and everything based on choices and form entries. Final question: Based on other forum threads I understand that the images would need to be svg format. The latest version of Photoshop cc has native export to svg. I need to check it out thoroughly, but I understand that what I need for FPD is an svg file with each colour as a separate path. So, I would create separate paths from each layer and then export the svg. Is this what I need? The client also has the technology to print colour images with colour gradients. I don't see any way of separating these into paths from layers unless I use some sort of filter.
