In the product builder, the price of the custom design is shown. Also, the "done" button shows the price of the design. but after it gets added to the cart, only the base price is showing. it is also not showing the name of the design which has been added, but it does show the finished product including the design in the thumbnail.
can someone please weigh in on this?

As always, revert back to a default theme to check it's updating correctly there.
Disable any other plugins that might be interfering.
This behaviour is almost always due to the current theme overriding the standard woocommerce layout which will require a bit of digging around to allow the updated price to be shown.
